The Way of Things

by Track Dogs

/

about

“The Way of Things” is quickly becoming one of Track Dogs’ signature songs, sizzling along like a Tex-Mex fajita of rumba rhythms and latin-tinged trumpets.

A song for these times, it warns of worse things to come. One could be advised to take to the hills with all of their worldly belongings or at the very least contemplate each step taken on the precarious road of life. There is always hope however, woven into the feel-good groove of this infectious Track Dogs tune.

Featured heavily on this track is the aforementioned latin-tinged trumpets of Howard Brown. From the North of England he trained at the Birmingham Conservatoire although one might imagine he grew up and trained in Tijuana!

After a debut performance at The Royal Albert Hall the band are gearing up for Summer festival appearances at Beardy Folk, Gate to Southwell, Wickham Music Festival and Glastonbury. In the Autumn they release their 10th studio album, “Blind Summits & Hidden Dips”.

lyrics

There are worse things in this world

You just ain’t seen nothing yet
There’s no shame in love and loss
There’s no heart without regret
There’s a longing in your soul
It’s the most you’ve ever felt
You can hide it all you want
But you can’t run from yourself

Take every thing you can carry in both hands
Stick to the back roads, live off the land
Don’t ever look back, never be in doubt
There are worse things in this world
And you’re just finding out

It’s the way of things, the way of things
It’s the way of things, the way of things

There are worse things in this world
You just ain’t seen nothing yet

There are souls whose darkest deeds

Will make you wish you could forget
There’s a feeling in your gut

That you simply can’t ignore
Like a hunger or a thirst
It won’t wait any more

Take every cent you can gather in your name
When your eyes are opened
You’ll never be the same
Mind every word that issues from your mouth
There are worse things in this world
And you’re just finding out

La vida choca
La vida roba
La vida mata
La vida corta
La vida extraña
La vida amarga
La vida niega
La vida espera

about

Track Dogs Madrid, Spain

Track Dogs are an acoustic four piece based in Spain but hail from Ireland, the US and UK.

Taking their name from the NY subway maintenance teams this closely-knit group of ex-pats have opted for Cajón instead of drums and trumpet in place of electric guitar. Four-part harmonies steal the show.
